Nancy Musselwhite joins Geo Strategy Partners as a senior consultant

Atlanta, GA September 1, 2007 - After serving 12 years at the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce in industrial recruitment, Nancy Musselwhite has joined consulting firm, Geo Strategy Partners as a senior consultant.

Musselwhite brings to Geo Strategy Partners over 20 years of successful economic development experience, having been designated as a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) by the International Economic Development Council. She rose to be the Senior Business Development Manager for the Chamber of Commerce of the third-largest metro market concentration of Fortune 500 companies in the United States. She is well-versed in global commerce, supply chain and channel trends, process and evolution and is used to dealing with top-level executives and VIPs.

“I have been trying to hire Nancy for 10 years,” said Geo Strategy Partners Managing Director Mark Towery. “She finally gave in and we could not be more pleased. Nancy brings a broad range of experience, industry insights, and project development skills that fit perfectly with our practice.”

Musselwhite will not be focused just on economic development; however, she will be equally engaged in industrial research and strategy projects. “On my first day here I was negotiating a distribution agreement for a technology company and the next day I was involved in a merger-acquisition. Now, I’m trying to complete a wind energy study, and I’ve only been here a week. It’s great to no longer be limited by geography and to be able to help clients anywhere in the world they need assistance,” Musselwhite said.

Nancy has honed and applied her remarkable economic and trade development skills in a wide range of organizations. That includes the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration, a major New York-based import / export company management, and with a metro chamber of commerce, carrying the responsibility for creation and execution of specialized ED programs and special events, which involved direct dealings with incoming foreign business leaders, ambassadors, heads of state, and potential corporate investors.

Nancy has many years of experience in conducting meaningful market research projects, in dealing with consulates, trade and tourism offices, foreign and domestic chambers of commerce, as well as with the press both here and abroad. As coordinator of the department’s business-to-business marketing communications program to attract domestic and foreign investment, Nancy further proved her capacities to influence business thought-leaders throughout the world. In the past 4 years, she recruited 68 companies to a metro region, creating 1,600 initial jobs (3,200 over three years) and absorbing 2.4 million square feet of office and industrial space.

Her bachelor’s degree was from Carleton College, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude in International Relations / Political Science. Her master’s degree was earned With Honors from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs. Nancy received a Certificate from the East Asian Institute through Columbia University, as well completing studies at the East China Normal University / Shanghai Institute of Law and Politics in Shanghai, China. She earned not only the highly-respected CEeD from the International Economic Development Council but also carries the designation of EDCA (Economic Development Credit Analysis) from the National Development Council. Nancy is active in the Alumni Clubs of both Columbia University’s School of International & Public Affairs and of Carleton College. She is a Board Member of the Korea-U.S. Southeast Chamber of Commerce as well as of Georgia Resource Capital, and participates in the Georgia Economic Developers Association.
