Two US-based associations have developed best practices models in the field of economic development: the International Economic Development Council, headquartered in Washington DC, and the National Development Council, headquartered in Edgewood KY.
The mission of IEDC is to provide leadership and excellence in economic development for communities, members, and partners.
The National Development Council straddles economic and community development initiatives and service the mission of increasing the flow of capital for investment, jobs and community development to under-served urban and rural areas across the country.
